چکیده

The Myrtaceae plants are cultivated for their edible fruits and folk medicinal uses. Likewise, leaves, flowers, fruit essential oils (EOs) described to have antiproliferative, antimicrobial, antioxidant activities. This work analyzed the chemical compositions evaluated antiproliferative activities of (EO) Myrcia bella Cambess, fallax (Rich.) DC., guianensis (Aubl.) Eugenia aurata O. Berg, punicifolia (Kunth) DC, from Brazilian Cerrado. EOs were obtained by leaf hydrodistillation Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) plus Chromatography-Flame Ionization Detector (GC-FID). major component in M. was α-cadinol (14.4%); guaiol acetate M.guianensis, (E)-iso-g‑bisabolene (17.5%). For E. punicifolia, bicyclogermacrene (25.3%) (E)-caryophyllene (18%), respectively, most relevant constituents. tested against human tumor cell lines UACC-62 (melanoma), MCF7 (breast), 786-0 (kidney), NCI-H460 (lung), OVCAR-3 (ovarian), HT29 (colon), K562 (leukemia) one non-tumor line (VERO). presented promising effect (TGI = 1.5 mg/mL), 5.0 no toxicity VERO cells (TGI> 250 mg/mL). other EOs, moderate activity observed. So, conclusion, revealed a good potential anticancer applications.

Fumigant antifungal activity of Myrtaceae essential oils and constituents from Leptospermum petersonii against three Aspergillus species.

Commercial plant essential oils obtained from 11 Myrtaceae plant species were tested for their fumigant antifungal activity against Aspergillus ochraceus, A. flavus, and A. niger. Essential oils extracted from Leptospermum petersonii at air concentrations of 56 × 10(-3) mg/mL and 28 × 10(-3) mg/mL completely inhibited the growth of the three Aspergillus species. However, at an air concentration...
